Rules of the club

Adhering to Safety Protocols and Regulations

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all members and visitors, we have established guidelines and regulations that govern the use of our facilities. Please review the following rules and regulations carefully before using our firing ranges.

Becoming a member

To become a member of the Montreal Shooting Club, the club’s safety course is mandatory. This course explains the CTM regulations and contains no exam. The cost is $110.00 plus taxes, and the course duration is one hour. This course is offered every Wednesday evening at 6 PM.

Club Regulations

  • Prohibited Ammunition

    Military ammunition, steel-jacketed, steel-core, and tracer rounds are strictly prohibited for use at the firing ranges. These types of ammunition pose a risk to the safety of our members and may cause damage to our facilities.

  • Safety Guidelines

    All members and visitors must adhere to strict safety protocols while on the premises of Montreal Shooting Club. This includes obeying range commands, wearing appropriate safety gear, and handling firearms in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

  • Range Etiquette

    Respect fellow shooters and range officers by following proper range etiquette. Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction, refrain from rapid firing or reckless behavior, and maintain a clean and orderly shooting area.

  • Firearm Storage

    Firearms must be transported and stored in a safe and secure manner when not in use. Members are responsible for ensuring that their firearms are properly stored and inaccessible to unauthorized individuals.

  • Compliance with Laws

    All members and visitors must comply with federal, provincial, and municipal laws governing the possession, use, and storage of firearms and ammunition. Any violations of these laws may result in disciplinary action and/or legal consequences.

  • Firearms Manipulation

    You are not allowed to walk with a firearm in your hands. The firearm should remain at your stall. Additionally, it is prohibited to handle firearms at the safety table if they are not yours.

Please refer to the following image list for information on the different calibers, bullet weight, muzzle velocity, velocity, muzzle energy, and energy at 200 yards. This information will help you select the appropriate ammunition for use at our firing ranges.
